Interview with Marijke about learning to play the violin as an adult | Violin Lounge TV #260

Yes! You can learn to play the violin as an adult.

On her popular YouTube channel, my client Marijke shares her experiences and progress as an adult beginner on the violin.

She’s been playing the violin for about 1,5 years now, is learning fast and her YouTube following is like a small community.

If you are looking for some pep talk to start playing the violin or to gain motivation in your practice, make sure to watch the video.

Marijke is a regular customer in my violin shop, she has some nice gear and is very creative with it. She bought a five string electric violin (Bridge Lyra) and plays with carbon fiber bows from my own brand.

Check out how she makes her electric violin sound like a cello in the video below:

I hope you enjoyed our videos together. Now I would like to hear from you! Let me know in the comments below what your experience are as an adult beginner and what your wishlist is in terms of gear. I’m looking forward to your response!

Love,

Zlata

Commenta I have a viola, and have been lazy in getting started. Finally, and thanks to your emails, I am enrolled in one of your courses. I am an adult learner, and hope to put daily effort into this project. Saw the interview and it was motivating. Thanks you.

Hi Zlata. You know I also started as an adult playing the violin. My first lesson was on May 10 this year and I was 59 at that time. Now, Oktober 19, I have almost finished the first Suzuki book. Just two more pieces to play. I am having a lot of fun.
