What does success look like for YOU?
Some behind the scenes glamour: I unfolded my video gear from under the bed to shoot squeezed between laundry with Louise’s high chair as laptop stand. I’m filming during Tristan’s nap and while Louise and Victor are on a playdate.
I just advised a violin teacher who thought I had a professional film studio somewhere outside the house. Well, I guess the film quality turns out nice, haha!
So here’s what success looks like for me:
- I earn a decent full-time living while working from home with my kids around
- I never play for money, but only do really inspired musical projects and collaborations
- My schedule is nearly empty and completely flexible. I don’t have rehearsals or lesson appointments as I teach by video courses and have a teacher team for the video exchange with students (for an introvert like me this is heavenly)
- I have an assistant overseas who answers my e-mails and supports me in publishing videos
Hi! I'm Zlata
I'm writing a book about how I got more freedom and time for myself, because I had 3 babies in 1,5 year. Interested?
Sure, with all the requests I get for live lessons I could probably hire a fancy studio space and cram my calendar with lessons while I leaving my kids wherever. I could also say yes to orchestra and concert gigs I’m asked for regularly and be away in the evenings and weekends.
Wouldn’t that make me more of a ‘real violinist’? I struggled with that for years until I found the courage to REALLY go for my own definition of success. That all happened just two years ago after over ten years of searching and doubting.
