Before I became a mama, I was already an entrepreneur for over 10 years. From the outside it looked like I made a living from my passion (the violin) and ‘never worked a day in my life’. In reality I was always stressed, unfulfilled and frustrated about my work. I couldn’t figure out why…. I loved the violin and made a decent living from it, right?
When I got pregnant of my twins Louise and Victor, I finally found the courage to prune my business. I quit my violin shop, violin studio, orchestra gigs and more… work I had built up and worked hard in for years. I even won the Entrepreneur of the Year award with my violin shop… and I just closed it.

I'm writing a book about how I got more freedom and time for myself, because I had 3 babies in 1,5 year. Interested?
The only thing that stayed was my online education platform Violin Lounge. I even pruned it so that I focus on selling only one product: Bow like a Pro. Creating violin videos and nerding out on bow technique is what I love most and what had to stay. Besides that I could do this work from home without a fixed schedule.
Finally I pruned all the work I seemed successful at, but that drained me. Finally I could bring all my creative ideas to life.
For years I told myself stories about what a ‘real violinist’ should do or what a ‘real entrepreneur’ should do. I ditched all that.
For years I told myself that I could never make a living doing what I love and what honors my wants and needs as an introvert and mama. Guess what: because of the focus, I’m making more than all those ‘businesses’ combined.
