This beautiful Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is a great piece to practice collé violin bowing. This is an off the string bow technique close to the frog. Most important is the finger action: you stretch the fingers on the down bow and curve the fingers on the up bow. Practicing this bow stroke is great for bow control and the strength and flexibility of the bow hand fingers.
