This level is for you if you are picking up a violin for the very first time, or are re-learning after many years. The method books will walk you through basic rhythms and finger patterns. The repertoire listed is all in first position in easy keys (A major, D major, etc.) For very young players with no previous experience, it is important to spend some time learning about instrument set-up and basic technique before starting this level. This level is roughly equivalent to the first part of Suzuki Book 1, up to Long, Long Ago, or the RCM and ABRSM Preparatory Levels.
