Ditch Focus!

(Yup, I know there’s a verb that alliterates better to focus, but let’s keep it decent here, I’m trying hard to unlearn my potty mouth before the kids start talking)

The biggest insight I got from journaling about the last year is this: you don’t need focus! It’s gold! 🔑

I’ve created more amazing things than ever, my business results are better than ever, my violin skills are better, my videos are better all while feeling more fulfilled, happier and on track…

All without focus…

All in a big creative chaotic (but inspired and intuitively guided!) mess and making fun with the kids in between.

Of course it wasn’t exactly realistic with a newborn twin and no childcare to make ‘focus’ the word of the year 2020.

I put pressure on myself to focus, to not be distracted and told myself that only then could I get things to a new level.

you don't need focus

Hi! I'm Zlata

I'm writing a book about how I got more freedom and time for myself, because I had 3 babies in 1,5 year. Interested?

This year I learned that’s all 🐄💩

The exact opposite is true:

For example my violin practice quality is better if I take all afternoon for two hours of practice. As I get distracted often, I play a hard snippet from heart and get away and back to it. It improves so fast! Or I focus on making one note or phrase sound awesome. It makes my interpretation more interesting!

At home with two babies I got more progress than in a conservatory year: technically and especially musically and expressively.

It also was good for business. Snippets of time forced me to think ‘what was so important again’ and prune my business in such a way that results (financially as well as fulfillment wise) were better than ever.

Being more focussed by being less focussed (how meta). Magic!

Do you let lack of focus stop you? Or will you create awesome stuff and make your dreams come true with or without focus?
